From December 11th to December 18th 2010, Les Arcs ski resort will welcome the second edition of Les Arcs European Film Festival.

As a major cultural event, the festival aims at further developing the diversity of the European film industry and presenting the many talents our continent has to offer.

Located in the heart of the Alps, in one of the most beautiful ski areas in the world, the festival provides the opportunity to take advantage of the first snow and attend film screenings all day long in the presence of their film-makers and actors. Never-to-be-forgotten parties, special events, concerts and DJ receptions are also organized at night!

The festival proposes an ambitious programming, mostly unprecedented in France. More than 60 feature films all originating from European countries (Turkey and Russia included) will be screened in the 6 film theatres of the resort:

• 6 major European films screened as previews
  
• 12 films in the Official Competition for the Crystal Arrow award
  
• 7 European award-winning films in their home countries in Panorama
  
• 12 Danish films and several short films in the 2010 Country Focus dedicatedto Denmark, our “guest of honour” country
  
• 8 “classical” films screened for young people
  
  

More than 120 screenings are scheduled and more than 10,000 people expected!

Les Arcs European Film Festival is also a great professional not-to-be-missed event. More than 500 invited film professionals (film-makers, film crews, European film schools, producers, distributors...) are gathered in a unique work venue to facilitate the emergence of new projects and promote European cinema.

Over 70 journalists from all over Europe will relay the event and make the diversity of today’s and tomorrow’s European cinema known.

The second edition of the festival is more than ever a unique event where the public and film professionals can meet and exchange experiences.
