Biography of Aurélien Recoing, Actor
Trained at Florent, then at the Conservatory, Aurélien Recoing began his career in the theatre where he acted in about thirty plays before starting a cinematographic career. Attracted by the film d’auteur, he worked with Philippe Garrel in Les Baisers de secours (Emergency kisses)(1988) Zulawski in La Fidélité (Loyalty)(2000) and Laurence Ferreira Barbosa in La Vie moderne (Modern life)(2000). He came to prominence in 2001 thanks to Laurent Cantet's L’Emploi du temps (The timetable). Increasingly sought after, he was then to alternate films aimed at box-office success with films d’auteur : Tais-toi ! by Francis Veber (Shut up!)(2002), 13 Tzameti by Gela Babluani (2005), Pardonnez-moi by Maïwenn (Excuse me)(2005), La Horde by Yannick Dahan (2010)…
