Cristina Piccino was born in Rome on the 27th April 1968.

After studying cinema, she debuted as a cinema critic for the Manifesto at the beginning of the 1990s. She also participated in programs for Telepiu and Raisat, and for reviews such as the Rolling Stones, Amica and Marie Claire. She acted as a consultant for the Bellaria Festival, dedicated to Independent Italian cinema. She has co-written (with Luca Mosso) a book dedicated to the film-maker Eyal Sivan : Eyal Sivan Il cinema di un'altra Israele, And Cinema e rivoluzione, DeriveApprodi, dedicated to Peter Whitehead.
